4. 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark

In 1981, the audience was invited to the thrilling story of the iconic Indiana Jones who is on the lookout for the Ark of the Covenant. Compared to the likes of Star Wars, Raiders established a new subgenre of action-adventure films by fusing humour, adventure and action all in a power-packed movie.

Coupled with fast-paced action scenes such as the Arab Swordsman, the truck chase and the snake pit, this movie hardly gives you any room to breathe.
